01Summary

No personal information collected

Nogmi (the "App") transcribes voice recordings on your device and processes text with the AI engine you select. No recordings, notes, or search queries are collected on developer-run servers, and the App uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. The scope of remote AI processing you invoke and of iCloud sync is described below.

02Information We Collect

The App does not collect any personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, account, location, or device identifiers. There is no sign-up or login process.

03Microphone and Audio

• The App requests microphone access in order to record. This permission is enabled only when you grant it yourself.
• Recorded audio files are stored on your device and, if you choose, in your iCloud storage. Audio is never sent to external AI servers for transcription or Smart Playback analysis. Files you export yourself with the share function go to the destination you pick.
• Silence and applause detection and waveform generation run on your device. Smart Playback only moves the playhead and never modifies the original file.
• Zoom recording import copies a file you pick or extracts a video's audio on-device. It never signs in to your Zoom account or joins meetings on its own, and it never changes your original files.

04Speech Recognition, Transcription, and Summarization

Speech recognition (transcription) always runs on-device. The default summary engine is Apple Private Cloud Compute (PCC); you can instead choose on-device processing with Gemma or Apple Intelligence, or an explicitly designated local network server (LM Studio · Ollama). Running a summary, transcript correction, AI title, or translation may send the text needed for that task over the selected processing path. If PCC is unavailable, an available on-device engine takes over; the local network server is used only when you turn it on.

When a model is needed, it may be downloaded from Apple or open-source distributors. Download requests contain no recording content or note text.

Searching notes

Searching recording titles, transcripts, and summaries is processed entirely on-device — queries never leave it. On devices that support Apple Intelligence, search keywords (topics, synonyms, proper nouns) are pre-extracted from transcripts and summaries so you can find notes phrased differently. This extraction also runs only on-device with Apple's on-device model, and its results are stored in that recording's folder and sync only to your own iCloud, just like recordings and transcripts.

Playback analysis caches stay in this device's local storage and are not synced to iCloud. Search does not auto-download transcript files you haven't fetched yet, so results may leave out some note text.

05iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync, your recordings, transcriptions, and summaries are stored and synced only to your own Apple iCloud account. This data is protected by your Apple account's security, and the developer cannot access it. Data stored in iCloud is additionally subject to the Apple Privacy Policy.

06Third-Party Sharing

The developer does not sell, rent, or share your data for advertising. The App contains no ad networks, analytics SDKs, or tracking technologies. Information goes only to the AI processing providers you invoke, the share destinations you pick, and your iCloud, within the scope described above. For a local network server you designate, check that operator's retention policy.

07Data Retention and Deletion

• Your recording library is kept on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud. Text needed for remote AI processing travels over the paths described above; the developer stores nothing separately. Search queries and the search index never leave the device.
• Deleting an individual recording within the App, or deleting the App itself, removes the associated data.
• Data synced to iCloud can be managed and deleted in your Apple account settings.

08Children's Privacy

Because the App does not collect personal information, it does not collect information from any user, including children.

09Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated policy and its effective date will be posted on this page.
